Hitler ruined Germany. He started World War Two and lost it. Germany lost a large amount of territory which was never recovered. Germany lost millions of its citizens. Germany was occupied for decades by the winners. Nearly every city in Germany was leveled by allied bombs.

Take a look at a map of Germany before World War Two. Then take a look at a map of Germany after World War Two. Do you see how much territory the war lost? Now take similar look at the German population figures. Millions of Germans were lost in World War Two. In addition, Hitler brought about the deaths of millions of other persons. Nothing good was accomplished by his tyrannical rule, neither for Germany or anyone else. The wartime and postwar standard of living in Germany was worse than in the Great Depression.

Yet you still admire a leader who brought disaster to his country and to much of the rest of the world. You apologize for his brutality and cruelty. You ignore his gross incompetence at both military and civilian affairs. You blame his failures on traitors from within.

You say that Hitler wanted peace. Hitler invaded Poland without provocation, and split it with the USSR. Hitler invaded Belgium, France, Denmark. Hitler turned on his ally, the USSR and declared war on it. The USSR had lived up to all of its part of the alliance, but to no avail. Hitler declared war on the USA, again without provocation. Hitler underestimated the economic might and political determination of the USA. Hitler left more than 500,000 German soldiers stranded at Stalingrad against the advice of Paulus and the General Staff who wanted to retreat. A few hundred survived. Hitler ordered the mass murders of millions of innocent persons who not only were no threat to Germany, but who could have aided in the war effort. Hitler turned nearly the entire world into a single alliance against Germany. That alliance conquered Germany and crushed all internal resistance.

Hitler was a LOSER! Germany fought and lost World War Two largely because of Hitler's gross incompetence. In all cases where the dope interfered with the military's judgements, he was wrong. Hitler was a jerk who barely made the rank of corporal while any German with even a smattering of military ability was given a field promotion to at least captain, and often colonel.

Hitler no more wanted peace than a rabid dog wants a quiet nap.
